Why paint with Fusion??

Built in Top Coat ~ Zero VOC ~ Quality & Durability ~ Eco Friendly

Fusion™ has taken Homestead House Paint Co. over 25 years to develop, test and refine, and our hard work has truly paid off. Fusion™’s results are nothing less than spectacular, providing furniture painters and decorative artists a best-in-class paint that features; an environmentally conscious formulation, zero VOCs, superior durability, easy one-step self-leveling application and significantly improved adhesion and strength. Delivering an exceptional matte finish, this 100% acrylic paint requires minimal prep and no top coat!

Is Fusion the same as a Chalk-like Paint?

No, it’s not. Fusion™ is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint. The “mineral” in Fusion Mineral Paint™ refers to the pigments used which are harvested from the earth. Using natural rather than synthetic pigments allows for greater depth in color and better durability to UV light and time. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain proof. No primer or top coat required, making it more of a one-step kind of paint. Blogger Melanie of Lost & Found gives us an excellent breakdown about the differences between Fusion Mineral Paint™ and chalk-like paints here

What can I use Fusion on?

The question is what can’t you use Fusion Mineral Paint on? The options are endless, keep in mind the surface prep that may be necessary depending on the condition of your particular project.

Can I use Fusion Outside?

Yes you can! Our premium formulation allows for the use outside, on metal doors, on Adirondack Chairs, you name it!

How long does it take to dry?

Drying and curing are two different things. Dry time usually refers to the touch or tackiness. Fusion™ should dry to the touch within an hour or two. High heat temperatures and high humidity play a factor making it sometimes slightly longer to dry.

Cure time is approximately 21 days, once again depending on the weather, similar to all water-based paints on the market. What does this mean? You can still use your piece gently, however the paint will be at it’s strongest to resist any marks the longer it has to cure. Once the Fusion™ line has cured, the durability is unrivaled. Our Fusion™ line is water resistant.
